PHOTOGRAPHY
Photography has always been a creative outlet for me. Since I was a little girl, I always had a camera in my hand ready to capture moments that I felt should have real tangible value.
My younger self had quite the portfolio back then — the majority of the content consisted of home-made music videos featuring a certain 10-year-old redhead dancing across the screen to Shania Twain hits — others included stealing my older sister’s dresses & mother’s high heels photographing myself as if I was on my way to attend the Academy Awards...As I grew older, I sought to refine my technique & perfect my craft (although, I still believe my content could not get any more entertaining than that).
As I continued my educational journey during my undergraduate years, at Queens University, I made an effort to join as many creativity-forward courses that involved media studies & production. I began to develop a more technical understanding & through my learnings, I completed a series of creative projects while learning theoretical & practical aspects of media communications like colour, time, composition & framing. I was given multiple briefs where I was to convey a particular emotion through a series of photographs. You can view these collections by clicking on the link below:
As I continued my studies at Queens, I started looking down different avenues to apply my knowledge to the professional communications world. In 2019, I worked as a digital marketing intern for a popular grocery chain in Toronto. I had the privilege of attending photoshoots for promotional projects, as well as learning the ins & outs of producing an image for purchaser consumption. In addition to the photography role, I provided digital design & content production support for their website & app. I introduced new content strategy to support integrated digital marketing efforts across owned & paid channels, enforced brand & promotional initiatives as well as provided internal team training on Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and other digital design and marketing tools (UX/UI Design). You can see an overview of some of my work here by clicking on the link below to gain a little more understanding of what I did during my time with Longos.

As for the present day, photography & communication technology has become more of a sentimental hobby of mine. I love creating editorial portraits & producing digital content. Although I may not be pursuing this field professionally, my background has served me extremely well now that I am heading down interior design path — Whether it is photographing a space, producing client presentations, or assisting in project development (the list goes on), my education in that field has certainly not gone to waste.
